University of Nebraska-Lincoln Flag Football Regional

2007 Pontiac ACIS Regional Tournament
University of Nebraska-Lincoln, November 17 & 18, 2007

For the 13th consecutive year, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln hosted an ACIS Regional Flag Football Tournament, November 16-18, 2007. With all this experience, and the help of UNL’s dedicated staff, the tournament was of course, nothing less than the epitome of an ideal college extramural tournament.  Even the weather was ideal, which for anyone who has ever been in Nebraska in November, knows is unheard of.  With no trace of snow, rain, and very little wind, the 50+ degree weather made for perfect flag football weather, and the competitors and UNL staff knew it, soaking in every minute of the perfect playing conditions.

With 27 men’s, 7 women’s and 6 co-rec teams in attendance, the fields were filled with over 400 student intramural athletes eagerly awaiting their chance to try to win a bid to the Pontiac ACIS Flag Football Nationals in New Orleans. The competition was fierce, but Sunday afternoon, it was the following teams that came out triumphant, winning free entry and travel stipends to the 2007 Pontiac ACIS Flag Football Nationals.

Men's Champion:           Monster, Dakota State University
Women's Champion:     Man Hands, University of Wyoming
CoRec Champion:
          D-Unit, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Although, the Runner-Up Teams didn't win, they did not leave empty handed, as they also received free entry and a travel stipend to the 2007 Pontiac ACIS Nationals.

Men's Runner-Up:          Amish Mafia, Augustana College
Women's Runner-Up:    Goin' Deep, Sam Houston State University
CoRec Runner-Up:         The 319, University of Northern Iowa

Thank you  to all the Flag Football Teams and the dedicated UNL staff for helping to make this tournament a success and a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
